Our Infotainment system provides a native car-like digital experience for our scooter. No two-wheeler offers an infotainment system that matches the digital capabilities of a smart car. Ujet aimed to bridge that gap.
Innovation is about creating something that doesn’t exist. Finding a way to bring a car-like infotainment system for a scooter is no easy task. The user experience is completely different compared to a car: the screen needs to be waterproof, resistant to temperature change, and easily viewable in direct sunlight. These are the main reasons why the market has trouble matching the car industry in terms of infotainment functionality. We decided to build our infotainment on Linux due to its ease of prototyping. But Linux is difficult to maintain, it requires expensive infrastructures, resources, and difficult to manage securely. This is why we developed the Android OS Platform (AOSP) solution and within 5 months, our system was readily presented on the scooter.
This AOSP-based infotainment system can be automatically updated via a wireless internet connection. Moreover, it can remotely update the Electronic Control Units (ECU’s) connected to the Controller Area Network (CAN Bus). Each ECU-whether battery management system, audio system, telematics control unit, or other—can be individually updated over the air. The system can be adapted for any hardware platform which supports AOSP, meaning that most preferred hardware platforms are compatible.
